What's Up

So, I know this blog is notoriously outdated. We all seem to get so wrapped up in Downton Abbey and The Mentalist along with our other various TV shows (Katy especially) I guess we haven't let anyone know RECENTLY what we've been up to.

Well, now it's my turn to try blogging. Be prepared for more of the same or a total change....you never know what I'll do.

Anyways....now to the juicy details of life at the Sellers' home. If you want in on all the kids away from home (Dylan--opening his mission call any day now-- through Ivy--with her 2 silly boys), feel free to blog stalk/ facebook stalk them. I'm sticking with whats going on here.

Mom & Dad-
As parents go, these two are pretty spectacular. I hear they've gotten soft in old age but I think that's just because they got through all the tough kids (haters gonna hate). Dad's currently occupied with his role as the 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency. We all view it as an upgrade, going from Bishop to a member of the Stake Presidency....not exactly sure how he feels about it......Oh well. If he doesn't complain to you about it, don't offer any sympathy (he's had this coming for years). Mom is fantastic, as usual. She is extremely involved with the local Republican Women's Group (if being the President is considered "involved") and she is a leader in her doTERRA business. Eventually we all got used to all the "interesting" aromas in the house all the time. They somehow manage to interact with the few kids left home and find time (and sanity) to have family visit. Overall, I think they're doing pretty good in life.

Katy (14)-
She is just as sassy as she always has been, which, I might add, leads to plenty of yelling and tension to fill this mostly empty house. It's not unusual to come home from a long day and find Katy and Dad nose-to-nose over some ridiculous topic (super bowl results, Downton Abbey episodes, what we are having for dinner, which of the MANY chores must be done immediately, etc you get the point). However, when she calms down enough to listen, Katy can be oodles of fun. She adores playing piano (by ear no less--how unfair is that!) and is almost constantly playing Les Miserables or some other impossible song that I can only dream of playing/ play one-handed....grrr.....She has also become interested in shooting. I'm talking real guns with REAL bullets. It lets her "release her anger" in a "safe environment". I'm not buying it. She does have her sweet, spiritual moments, though, and I'm grateful that she can be a supportive sister through all the chaos.

Tanner (10)-
He's a complete angel. I adore this little boy. He is constantly making friends, playing "host" to the constant flow of people coming in and out of our house. He loves to eat Little Caesar's Cheese Pizza and drink Mug root beer on Fridays and Saturdays (any day really) shortly after which, he will watch as many superhero/Disney movies possible before a sleepover in the girls' room. He is a little bundle of joy. He loves playing with hot wheels and Nerf guns with his nephews and anyone under the age of 8 or over 18. He plays a mean game of ping-pong thanks to long hours of "practice" with Dad. I'm 98% sure he could beat me if I took the time to play. But I'm perfectly content not proving this point to the world. He is SO very happy with his teachers and his student aid. He loves telling them about all the fun things he gets to do or telling stories about trips to Mexico (zip lines are his favorite) or his family. He loves having people come over and run around with him for a couple hours, so feel free to pop up at almost any time (I'd say anytime but it's best to get it cleared with the boss, aka Mom).

Me (Natalie 16)-
Life is pretty good for me right now. As you can see, I have a pretty sweet home life. My family keeps me on my toes while still loving me to pieces, no matter what crazy dilemma pops up. This year I am taking 3 AP classes and for the rest of the school year, I will have no life outside of studying or practicing for the school play (CATS- I'm soooooooooo excited!). I still have time to be laurel class president (somehow) and I'm glad to be an active part of the Church and a leader to the youth in our area. It's amazing to see their examples and hear the experiences they have in the world. I truly love watching their testimonies and spirits grow stronger day-by-day. We are all working like crazy to pull our Stake dance Festival together for March 9, so feel free to come check it out (try to spot yours truly--I'm in just about every dance....just not the all guys ones, they wouldn't let me in). So, ya, that's my life in a nutshell.

So, that's how life pretty much runs here now-a-days. We have the Larsens (minus Shane) here for a while and the Guerreros (I always spell it wrong) should be turning up in a week or 2. I'll try to get back on in a week or so, but for now, that's all the info I'm gonna dish.

See ya next week--if I can get on (it's harder than you might think)

Love, Natalie
