More Christmas & More Tanner

I know Meganis has already shared a great little round up of photos of Christmas 2007 at the Sellers' house but I wanted to add a few more I found on our camera of Tanner decorating the Christmas tree.

Oh, and here's a few more highlights from the trip as well:

***CHRISTMAS***

This christmas was jam packed with lots of fun memories! With the whole family together in the new house, things couldn't get any more chaotic--but thats us i guess :)
Holiday events included cutting down the giant 12' tree at the Dolds next door and decorating it, making sugar cookies, quading, sledding, hot tubbing (thanks to Chad and Justin!!), mashed potato feasts, and presents of course!

Sadly, all good things will come to an end, and so we hope we'll
all be able to get together again in the not too distant future...

Los Ninos de Los Sarabia

Emily and Alex Sarabia, dear relatives of the Sellers, have 6 model-icious children. L-R: Garren, Brailey, Mason, Riley, Sada and Kaelyn. Because of their rare beauty Emily has decided to go for another one. We wish them luck for another successful beauty. :]

3300 Greenwood Lane

This week all members of the Glen Sellers family (two parents, 10 children and three sons-in-law) gathered for to celebrate Christmas at the new Sellers' abode in Placerville, California. Twenty minutes up Highway 50 from our hometown of Folsom, the house sits on 10 acres of rolling hills sprawling with oak trees. As you can tell from this aerial shot taken the week before the move-in (which took place a day before out-of-towners started showing up for Christmas), the place is really turning out to be the stuff that dreams are made of. We hope family and friends living both far and near will feel welcome to visit and a desire to stick around for a while.

The Guerrero- Sellers Event

On the 21st day of the seventh month in the year two thousand and seven, Megan married the silliest man on the earth. his name? David a.k.a. Davey Guerrero. Why such an act was committed, we know not. But i think we are all grateful that she waited until after she reached the age of 20, even if it had only been a week before. After ridiculous amounts of time and money spent planning (who knows where it all actually went), the occasion was lovely, and the day was not too hot. After the yes's were said, the Bride waited patiently for quite some time as her Groom took his dear little time perfecting his hair before making their grand appearance outside the temple. After hours of smiling and picture taking (and putting up with a slight stomach ache), the couple raced back home, and almost ran out of gas in an attempt to grab some last minute things before the reception--we were stalled at the intersection in front of Costco and had to putt -putt our little way over to the gas station to fill up the car in our gown and tux...good thing Davey had his wallet. The reception was fun, though the church was extremely hot and we were all somewhat rushed...in fact the bride and groom hardly remember a thing other than that they didn't really know how to cut the cake. laugh if you want, but its not as easy as it looks. After surviving dozens of hugs and "thank you so much for coming" s , the two grabbed a large greasy bag of pasta salad and...hung around the church for a while with their family. Two days later they took off to Hawaii and haven't been heard of since.

MY wedding...

I must say i am rather disappointed in the lack of... urgency.. you people feel when it is obvious that my wedding alone is the only one that has not premiered on this blog. I will push away my feelings THIS time... but do it again and you test the patience of a guerrero also known as a warrior. thats right. beware...

Think Green: Wedding Day for Shane & Ivy

It seems this little blog only gets updated when there are weddings or other big events in the family -- such is life, I guess. Many of us now have blogs of our own that need to be linked into this site. For now, here are a few photos from the wedding of Ivy and her husband Shane Larsen taken after they were sealed in the Sacramento, California Temple by Grandpa Sellers on June 29, 2007.

Can you name all of us?
L-R: Megan, Natalie, Chad, Meri, Tim, Dylan, Shane,
Ivy, Katy, Mom, Tanner, Dad, Chelsea and Justin
(oh, and the real photographer, Debby Rackham).

Now say it five times fast. Yeah, that's what I thought.

'We Speak With Our Eyebrows'

Allie Rato joined Meredith and the rest of us at home this week for dinner tonight. Somewhere during the course of our excellent meal of cream of carrot soup and roasted red pepper sandwiches (mouth watering now?) Meredith claimed Katy had interrupted her conversation with Allie. Katy, not be outdone, shot back to point out that Meredith hadn't even been talking. Meredith's reply was so classic that it nearly sent us rolling on the floor:
"We don't need words -- we speak with our eyebrows."
So if you've had trouble touching base with Meri lately...

Thanksgiving in Mexico

Over Thanksgiving 2006 we spent more than a week (some more than two) basking in the Mexican sunshine, floating in the aqua waves and stuffing ourselves with all kinds of delightful local foods. Some of our favorites: fresh guacamole, virgin pina coladas and steak cooked Ruth's Chris-style. Activities varied from reading books on the beach and watching the Lord of the Rings series (at Chad's insistence) to scuba diving off the island of Cozumel and cliff jumping at Xel-Ha. The two photos below were taken on our last full day together. Miraculously there were no huge scuffles as we posed for our photographers (Mom and Dad, in this case).

Take one.

Take two.

Let's Get This Party Started!

Hey Sellers Gang,

I think it's time we started a family blog -- yep, you got it -- a web-log = blog. So update us on your lives by adding tidbits about your week or uploading a fun photo with a short description. If we get good at this it can be a fun family journal to look back on in the years to come. Plus, after you get hooked on blogging here you can always start your own personal blog and link back to this, the main family site.

I'm excited to try this out -- please join me.

Much love,
Ivy
